Some images aren’t meant to last, but they linger anyway.

Obiter dictum is a legal phrase meaning “a passing remark”, something said on the record, but not meant to carry weight. This collage flips that idea. What if the throwaway becomes the centrepiece? What if the background noise is the real message?

Fashion models, dead cars, glitchy skies. This is a freeze-frame of seductive collapse. A subject poses with perfect poise while wreckage piles up behind her. Neon arrows and vector graphics buzz like lost signals. It’s desire, distraction, and decay suspended in mid-transmission.

Within the Paperpunk mythos, Obiter Dictum operates like a signal bleed: low fidelity, high significance. A stray thought that refuses to stay in the margins. It doesn’t need attention. It already has it.

In 2024, this artwork was exhibited in the CONTENT exhibition that was held in Braemar Gallery (Springwood, NSW).

The price listed also includes all postage and packing costs.
