IRL pulls at the frayed edge between the digital and the physical. The title — shorthand for “In Real Life” — immediately casts doubt on what counts as real, and the collage answers with its own layered, glitchy reply. Here, images of people and systems blur, as if half-remembered from an endless scroll, then pinned back to paper with scissors and glue. The effect is both funny and uncomfortable: is this connection, or just simulation dressed up as human contact?

This a piece tuned to contemporary anxieties — irreverent, layered, and bristling with energy. IRL is a reminder that our “real lives” are stitched together from fragments of media as much as flesh and bone. Glossy, playful, and conceptually sharp, it’s a one-of-a-kind work that brings edge, wit, and a slight amount of unease to any collection.

In 2024, this artwork was exhibited in the CONTENT exhibition that was held in Braemar Gallery (Springwood, NSW).

The artwork is framed behind glass with white matt and a black border, and is wired for immediate hanging.
